With over a century of experience in the industry, Norway-based Hansen Protection designs and manufactures both standard and custom high-tech textile products for various sectors.
Since 1976, the company has focused on the research, development, and production of survival and rescue textile products for the North Sea oil industry. In addition to these activities, the company has engaged in fabric production for marine vessels and product development for the medical and agricultural sectors. It is also a leading supplier to the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Hansen Protection manufactures the majority of its products in Norway, utilizing its experienced team and state-of-the-art production facilities. Materials used in production undergo testing in specialized laboratories, and finished products are subjected to rigorous testing procedures.
PRODUCT CATEGORIES
Work suits are survival suits for use in daily work on board, or in transit between installations. These are suits designed for safety combined with freedom of movement when performing tasks such as maintenance in exposed situations.
Hansen Protection has developed, manufactured and sold work suits since 1975 and is a favorite among the users. We develop suits for many different user areas, giving you the choice of suits that can be tailored to the purpose. Their customers are found in most segments in the market, from regular shipping via fisheries and offshore wind energy, - to rescue services.
On ships and mobile drilling units, there shall be approved insulated immersion suits on board; -available at the muster station in the event of an emergency. An insulated immersion suit has a certification in accordance with IMO/Solas' LSA Code; and is tested and approved to a number of requirements such as thermal protection, mobility, floating position, freeboard, size, resistance flames etc.
The LSA Code is the minimum requirement, which of course is met by Hansen Protection immersion suits. Our goal and practice is to override the minimum requirements of the standard.
Hansen lifejackets are carefully selected to function well both in daily work and in the event of an evacuation from a ship or installation. Depending on whether you are carrying out your daily work in the lifejacket or if you are only concerned with having rescue equipment available in case of an emergency, there are different models to be considered.
The model range is spread from fixed buoyancy aids with 50N buoyancy to hybrid lifejackets with over 300N buoyancy. Here you will find vests for active rescue-personnel in NSSR (Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue), Norwegian Coast Guard and the Norwegian Navy.
