The STADT GROUP is a Norwegian family-owned enterprise located in Gjerdsvika on the west coast of Norway. The group was started in 1985 and consists of the companies STADT AS, STADT NAVAL AS, STADT Eigedom AS, and In Motion AS.
Their main business is integrated electric propulsion systems for medium and large-sized vessels.
With a history since 1985 in the power system market they have gained an extensive experience in power electronics, and their focus is and has always been to deliver solutions which will benefit the owners for the vessels lifetime.
PRODUCT CATEGORIES
STADT Lean Propulsion is a patented AC-AC direct conversion technology that eliminates the large transformers, hazardous DC bus capacitors, and drive losses found in conventional electric propulsion systems. By generating no harmonic distortion (THD) or electromagnetic interference (EMI) on the grid, the system offers completely silent, stealthy, and highly efficient cruising for both military and civil vessels. Scalable from 100 kW to over 50 MW, this modular architecture ensures uninterrupted propeller operation—even in the event of a single component failure—thanks to an integrated power management system and redundant thyristor Power Conversion Center (PCC) units.
